Forum: GratefulDead Subject: where were they

once again my mind wonders back and tries to figure things out, some things could be easily jutified ,others maybe not.The first point , where was either Jerry or the other guys when the BAND was doing their LAST WALTZ GIG. Clearly they were friends from way back including the train across Canada in the early 70s.Secondly Jerry was such a devote of Dylan where was he when they did the Garden tribute. If Clapton and Neil Young showed where's Jerry. If it's a shedule issue these things are known way in advace....lw

In watching The Last Waltz, I've wondered the same thing too. The GD were not touring during that time; The Last Waltz was on 11-25-76 at Winterland. The Fall tour ended on 10-15-76 at the Shrine in L.A. JGB played in Pismo Beach on 11-20-76 and then played the Keystone Berkeley on 12-21-76, according to my Deadbase IX book. Since The Last Waltz was at Winterland, Jerry probably was in the area unless he was jamming somewhere else with someone else that wasn't a JGB gig. You'd think he'd ave been asked, not to mention the rest of the boys.

Can't speak about the Dylan gig. My $.02.
